STATEMENT FOR CULTURAL INCLUSION AND EQUITY

The Canyon Theatre Guild supports those who fight against the discrimination of African Americans.

Our official position on Cultural Inclusion states: “The Canyon Theatre Guild organization is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access. The Canyon Theatre Guild believes that to achieve its mission to make the world a better place through live theatre, we must include all people. The Canyon Theatre Guild believes that by creating diversity among the participants, programs, and creations of the organization, we are strengthening the cultural fabric of our community.”

Doing so allows us to tell stories that better reflect the diverse perspectives of our vibrant community, letting the audiences see themselves in our work while encouraging them to gain new understanding of others. The CTG adheres to the belief that it takes acceptance, tolerance, and compassion for all people in order to weave the tapestry of humanity which unifies us into a beautiful work of art.

The CTG realizes that in order to serve our community we must lead by example and create an art form that speaks to everyone in the community. We want to tell stories that will entertain and educate and also to inspire young artists to not just tolerate differences but embrace them.

We at the Canyon Theatre Guild know that Black Lives Matter, and we welcome all who wish to create a world without racism, a world in which love, equality, and justice prevail.
